Release Note #5 - Product supply chains - October 2025
Dear Simvia user,
We know managing multiple products across different supply chains can get messy. This is why we are releasing an improved way you can map products within supply chains. This update gives you more flexibility and ensures your product data reflects how your supply chains work in the real world.
Product Supply Chains
Previously, products were added at the organisation level and automatically appeared in every supply chain that organisation was part of. This made it difficult to manage suppliers providing different products across separate chains.
With this update, you can now map products directly to specific supply chains.
For example: The same supplier can now supply apples in one supply chain and pears in another, without overlap or confusion.
Product Supply Chains allow you to map product flows throughout different supply chains
Why this matters
- Accurate product flows: Map products to reflect how your supply chains actually operate.
- Targeted requests: Product-specific requests are routed to the correct organisation.
- More flexibility: Easily manage activation or deactivation of products within individual supply chains.
This change builds on earlier improvements to supply chains, organisation status, and product mapping, giving you more control and clarity over your data.
Migration of existing supply chains
We’ve already migrated your existing supply chains to this new setup. If an organisation had products linked before, these are now automatically mapped to the correct supply chains.
After the update, products flow through the entire supply chain, reaching the right suppliers every time.
