GLOBALG.A.P. (Agraya) API Update

Dear Simvia user,

GLOBALG.A.P. has launched its new Agraya platform, and we’ve now completely rebuilt our GLOBALG.A.P. connection to make it faster, more reliable, and ready for even more features in the future.

This release keeps your current GLOBALG.A.P. data syncing smoothly as the new system goes live - laying the foundation for future improvements.

Below you’ll find what to expect this week, what’s new, and what’s still in progress

🗓 What to expect this week

  • Data synchronisation between Simvia and Agraya will continue throughout 3 - 7 November.
  • The new API is fresh and still being fine-tuned by GLOBALG.A.P. We’ll keep a close eye on performance and make updates as their data stabilises.
  • Some data differences may appear while we sync with GLOBALG.A.P., depending on the current speed of their API. We recommend checking both Simvia and the new GLOBALG.A.P. (Agraya) database when verifying certificate data.
  • If you use the private bookmarking connection, you can reconnect using your new Agraya credentials now.

🔄 What’s New

1. Connect with Agraya credentials

You can now connect your private bookmarking connection using your Agraya email and password (no O-key needed).

→ Go to Settings › Connections › GLOBALG.A.P. (Agraya) Private Bookmarking

2. Updated certificate structure

  • Option 1 certificates now include clearer site-level data.
  • Option 2 group certificates show all member sites and products in an improved layout.

3. Additional metadata and geolocation data

  • Certificates now include geolocation data (if provided by GLOBALG.A.P.), visible in documents and all Simvia exports.
    • → If your exports use formulas, double-check they work with the new columns.
  • The update also enables more detailed metadata, allowing you to create requirement rules based on document details like certificate version, option, etc.
    • Note: GRASP and SPRING versions are now shown in Document details → Farm assurance product, not in the document name. Please update your filters accordingly.

4. Other improvements

  • Support for additional schemes, including SwissGAP.
  • Faster syncing and improved stability.
  • The Simvia public API now uses the new GLOBALG.A.P. data and stays backwards compatible. Integrations with your internal ERP systems should continue to work as before, but if you use the API directly, please review your connections and let us know if you spot any issues.

This release is a compatibility update, focused on maintaining current functionality as Agraya goes live, while providing a stronger foundation for future improvements.

⚠️ Still in Progress

We’ve escalated two issues to GLOBALG.A.P. (Agraya) that are affecting data retrieval. Both are being addressed on their side:

  • Large data requests - When fetching groups of GGNs that contain too much data, some GGNs fail to retrieve, causing the entire request to fail. As a temporary fix, we’re collecting smaller batches to reduce errors, though this will slow data updates until GLOBALG.A.P. implements a full fix.
  • Option 2 certificates - Some certificates for main certificate holders aren’t being retrieved correctly.
